View Full Version : Removing battery tray

I need to remove the battery tray to get more space for changing my under-bonnet pump. Does anyone know what size the Torx screws are that hold it in? I have T10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 40 in front of me and probably a few others in the garage...

I need to go out later to buy an extension bar anyway for the job, so can pick up some other sizes while I'm out if necessary.

(Also: are there any other tools needed to change the UBP that I might not have readily available?)

Thanks.

It's a T25 for the battery tray or at least it was in mine.

It's worth getting some penetrating oil / freezer spray to hand, as the bolts were incredibly tight on mine!

Thanks - did it this evening and needed WD40 and a fair amount of push for the front two!

The bolts were T40 on mine, just incase it's useful to anyone in the future.

Best thing I can say regarding the UBP change is use the correct clips. Use proper fuel line clips, the ones with the nut and bolt. Worm drive, (jubilee clips) will go out of shape on such a small diameter.
