does anybody have any advice on the best tool to use to remove the brake line from the off side front caliper to enable caliper replacement?
All suggestions much appreciated... thanks in advance.

It's just a standard banjo bolt, isn't it?
Should be a case of remove bolt, and pull hose from caliper. I could be wrong, though!

Its a threaded hose that unscrews from the caliper with a suitable spanner. Cant remember the size but its usually very tight and can tend to round off so make sure the spanner is a nice tight fit.

thanks, you are both right... don't want to round off the bolt but can't seem to get an open ended spanner tight enough not to.
hoped for a recommendation regarding a slip ring spanner or other but will have a proper look tomorrow- if it was easy what would be the point eh?

I found a good set of Mole grips work well if the spanner rounds off the nut, give it a damn good soak in penetrating oil then a few gentle taps before you try to undo it.

Whatever else you do, NEVER put heat near a flexy, they just pop and die.
