Can anyone tell me if zt 1.8t has a pre cat fitted in the front pipe or not please
Was told that with it being a turbo they have a pre cat fitted for the emissions
I've seen them on other cars before so wasn't sure

According to MG Rover, no they don't Jason. There's just one catalytic converter shown and believe me, the fewer of these things you have the better!

The 1.8 Non-turbo has a pre-catalyst integral with the exhaust manifold, plus a second catalyst in the usual place.

As above :} - can confirm my 1.8t has only 1 catalytic converter ;)

1.8t - Manifold, turbo, front downpipe, Catalytic converter, from the cat back is one piece with silencers ( usually replaced in 2 parts - centre section and backbox)

Hi Jason, yes the 1800T only has the one cat, and shares it's exhaust with the Zt190 with the exception the 1800T has a single outlet downpipe from the turbo, leading onto a triangular flange which bolts onto the rear section of exhaust.

As an aside do you still have that spare manifold I brought around to your place many aeons ago? just it would be handy to have the fuel rail injectors, MAPIAT sensors and throttle body back to fit to my project engine ;)
