has anyone experienced this before and got some answers that could shed some light before I go digging.......

many thanks

Does it make a "machine gunning" sound? If so, just wind out the rubber stops on the boot lid a little:cool:

Next step, check the connections behind the button, make sure they're clean & connected properly.:}

Few silly questions....
1) Are the rear doors unlocked? If you have single point entry and only the drivers door is unlocked then the boot doesn't open on the button (or at least it doesn't on mine)
2) Do you stop, put on the hand brake, then turn off the engine? Sometimes mine has a funny, and then won't release the boot if I do a rolling stop with engine off.
3) Has anybody done any work in the area of the switch (could they have knocked the wires off the switch)
Is this a tourer or a saloon?
