Have just changed the auto fluid in my 75 diesel tourer using Dextron 3. None of my local suppliers have ever stocked the Texaco 402 thats stated in the owners book and Haynes manual, will this be okay.

Simple answer to that is absolutely not

Now you need to completely flush every last trace of Dexron 3 out of the box and torque convertor, then refill with the correct ATF ;)

Brian :D

The right stuff can be found HERE (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5L-ATF-JATCO-N402-Fluid-for-JF403E-JF506E-by-Westway-Lubricants-7045E-5-Litres/112329706852?hash=item1a275f4d64:g:cOMAAOSw32lYwcl 8)

Hello Derek and :welcome: to the club.
None of my local suppliers have ever stocked the Texaco 402 thats stated in the owners book and Haynes manual ..
I'm afraid that you should have asked for assistance before doing the job, not after it. There are many sources of ATF to N402 specification. Here's a list. (https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/showpost.php?p=1138687&postcount=23)
