Hi,
my drivers seat (Electric, memory) stopped working a while ago.
I have replaced the black control box, sited underneath the seat, with a secondhand one, with no change.
The passenger one works, and both still heat up.
I think they are both on the same fuse, but could be wrong.
Any ideas on where else to look (the wiring seems ok, but its difficult to see under the seat).
Thanks
Paul

If it stopped completely (moving and saving the position), then it can only be the fuse or the wiring. But if moving works, but saving(memorizing) the positions the the motors could be failng. Well, this is a long shot...

It could be the switch pack on the seat itself, though unlikely if it won't move in any direction. I suspect a bad connection, probably on a multiplug under the seat (different plug to the seat heater and belt pre-tensioners). Failing that the BCU could theoretically be involved as I think some models would use the RF signal from the key to recall saved seat positions? If you can remove the seat then try powering each motor individually and trace where the cabling from them leads, though if the seat is stuck in position you may not be able to get to all the mounting bolts.
