Can someone confirm this will fit the BMW CDTi Diesel unit?
I'm sure it does. :D

Much cheaper than BMW or MGR Parts.

Bought mine over 90 days ago, so the picture & item has gone.....

This is the seller I bought mine from (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LAND-ROVER-FREELANDER-TD4-CRANKCASE-BREATHER-AND-VALVE_W0QQitemZ220225603096QQcmdZViewItem?hash=ite m220225603096&_trkparms=72%3A1301%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C 240%3A1318&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14)

John, the Land-Rover part will fit, I got one for my engine too. I don't have the part number at hand right now, but I'll investigate.

Thanks everyone.
I'll buy one of those at that price for next time my PCV needs changing,
and pass on Answer if not already seen.

Will it fit the CDT (as opposed to the CDTi)?

Also how often does it need to be changed on the 75?

And finally what is the likelihood of it failing in the first place?

IMHO it should be changed on a Major service or at least no longer than 30K miles.
I've always had mine changed every service at 15,000
Its the same for CDT and CDTi models.

So at 98k I'd better change it then!! :getmecoat: off to the shop ;)

Er.... where is it on the engine ?

Under the large engine cover (3 X 8mm bolts) to the rear of the injector rail.

BMW Dealers stock this part. I paid approx £12 for mine last year.
I will see if I can dig out the BMW part number for you in the next couple of days.

redo your spill return piping - all 5(?) pieces - if its the first time disturbed in over 100k... it really hardens up and can leak after being disturbed to fit the pcv...

ISTR that the BMW is the filters only and not the cover. Having seen how dirty it gets, it's worth the extra bit just to be able to bin it all and not end up filty dirty from it....

Spot on! in fact you have jogged my memory. I must have purchased the Land Rover one from the supplier on ebay, and got the filter from BMW as a spare.

Of course, not being one to throw away much I still have the old one, if I ever want to clean it and put in the new filter!

I'd bin it now, as what ever oil and carbon is in there is hardening up a treat...........It'll cost more in white spirit to clean it then a new one would cost....

Hi John,
I think you can actually buy just the PCV filter elements from Land Rover, an even cheaper solution.

Just bought this for mine using the above part number.
going to have a go at doing it this morning, it comes with the blue filter thing and also like a rubber seal too.

was a lot dearer than i thought though, i'm sure i read somewhere that it was about £12 !,
it was just over £20 inc VAT
I was hoping that it was the complete unit at that price and they had somehow lowered the price, wasn't to be though.
i would have left it and tried elsewhere but i had already driven 15 miles to get there.

will let you know how it goes, will be on with it shortly after i've finished me morning cuppa
