A few weeks ago I read a thread on here about someone whose heater in the car kept varying in temperature thru the vents.They found a "Sensor" behind the small oval vent that is to the left of the steering wheel on the dash which I believed to be some sort of cabin temp control.Having removed it it was found to be clogged up with fluff etc.

Having the same problem I decided to have a look and lo and behold the sensor on my car was covered in fluff and the odd dead spider .A good clean with a cotton Bud and a good blow thru and replaced it.I have yet to try the car to see if the temp stays stable....:shrug:

Or maybe it has nothing to do with cabin Temp..:}

If you do,You have to remove the lower panel trim that covers the underneath of the steering column and also the panel that covers underneath the pedals.

You then look under neath and you will see a white tube follow that and it will lead to the sensor this pulls out and you will (may) see a fluff encrusted sensor.

And as per normal refitting is a reverse of this.....:shrug:

Checked mine today just out of morbid curiosity and yes was nicely covered in dust, as previously said follow the white pipe to the sensor pull it out and give it a blow.

I was thinking there must be a way to do this without pulling the dash apart so I Goggled 'fluffer' .....

That is the automatic A/C aspirating sensor, stick a hoover nozzle over the little grid from time to time to keep it clear. :}

Well after cleaning the cars "Belly button" (Trikey) I have been a run and the inside temp is certainly more Stable,,with no variation in the cabin temp.So it looks as tho the De Fluff has worked::D:D

What's the best way to remove the sensor so as to avoid damage?
Will give it a go tomorrow if it's a doddle to do.
