R75 CDT thermostat

I have just got a replacement thermostat (rimmer bros £33.00 inc VAT and P+P) you get it complete with the housing and seal, my question is, when I replace it and then top up with coolant will there be any airlocks I need to purge or will it clear itself?

You obviously need to take care but it is not such a big issue on the Diesel so I doubt a vacuum fill is required plus they also have an air bleed valve in the pipe work to the FBH, which is the highest point.
