I saw this on eBay - it looks like a lovely car from the photos.

There aren't many around now, so seems such a shame to break it.

There aren't many around now, so seems such a shame to break it.They drive really well even as a 1.8 auto. Dated design but great to drive.

If this is the car that is being broken the last MOT flagged up corrosion underneath.

Usually the front foot wells go or near the front jacking point but with a little time and care they usually can be brought back to life.

My wife's 1.8 auto started to go and took half a day to put right by my amateur hands. Never had any further corrosion issues once it was properly protected.
The original protection would become brittle and be bombarded with stone chips. No corrosion one year and then loads the next.

Couldn't agree more. Great F1 autobox if driven manually. I have always had one in the fleet since 2007, and am on my 4th.

A friend has a 45 V6 identical to this one being broken. It is an absolute delight to drive, if ridiculously thirsty.
