Lost Rev & Temp Gauges

Developed another strange problem today..Can anyone perhaps offer any advice ? Whilst driving I lost the temp gauge display & rev counter, then it appears that i was stuck in 4th gear. Drove a distance like this and stopped. left for a few minutes and after restarting all was ok again until I stopped at traffic lights. Any thoughts ?

Checked the middle drain recently? ;)

There is a fuse which controls the IPK gauges, forget which number, but it's under the glove box. Might be worth a look.

Checked outside left & right only today. How do I access the middle one ?
