Hi folks

Noticed this yesterday - whilst typing in Word and also in Outlook, there's a definite and very annoying lag between pressing the keys and anything appearing on-screen

It does just seem to be Office progs, as in a .txt document (or typing here for example) things seem pretty much normal

Is this a known issue?

What os are you running is it a desktop or Laptop ?

Try looking at the windows task manager/ processes to see if anything is running 100%

Sorry - thought I'd put that!

It's a Toshiba Satellite laptop running Vista (yeh!)

MS Office that we are running is 2007 (wish it was 2003 - hate Office 2007 almost as much as I hate Vista!)

Sounds like it could be running low on system memory, they can start chugging after a while (particularly if there are a lot of programs installed). What model Toshiba satellite is it? Have you tried cleaning up the temporary files and defragging the hard drive? Also try re-installing microsoft office. Download a good anti-spyware program like 'spybot' and do a full scan to make sure there are no sinister programs running in the background. Also if it has only recently started happening then try a system restore. You need a pretty high spec machine to run Windows Vista as it can be a very demanding OS. XP for me all the way.

I think it's a P300?

Did run system restore earlier, and seems a little better now?

I agree about XP - the laptop is only a few months old but can be like treacle....

Try typing a bit slower! :D

I have the same problem at work, on the antiquated kit we have here. On my PC & Laptop (XP & Vesta) - no problems at all..

LOL! I type slowly anyway, but get lots of it wrong, then have to backspace and type again, and when things don't appear/disappear as they should, I get a very confused brain!

ISTR a bug with auto-correct turned on. Try turning it off. I use Open Office at home (you should try it) so I can't check, but it'll be in Options somewhere...

I'll give it a go, but I do need my auto-correct!
