Congratulations on the site. I confess .org is a great site but with many models not sold in Oz it's a bit crowded for me at times. The previous model Rover sold on Oz before the 75 was released here in 2001 was the 827 in 1989.

I've owned a few Rovers. My first car, bought in 1964, was a 1951 Rover 74, which I had for 2 or 3 years, and I've had a 1965 2000 P6 and and 1976 V8 P6B
(boy, how the V8 ate the juice but a good car). Wasn't a fan of the "Ronda" cars although Honda certainly produce some nice cars today, but the 75 looked to me the genuine article. Didn't think I could afford one for a few years, but earlier this year I picked up a 2002 75 KV6 Tourer with low kms at a low price for such a fine car. Best car I've ever had. Economy is not so great in the city but on a country run the economy exceeds 30mpg (UK).

Again thanks for your great work which has been invaluable to many of us. The classic car deserves it's own site and we can be nice to the ZT as well.

Welcome Rowland :)

we are hoping to get a fair few Australian members as we know there are a good many 75's out there. Please let us know of ways we might help you and your countrymen (apart from losing the Ashes!)

I will dig out the details of an Aussie garage that contacted me in case it helps. They work mainly on Jags etc and have begun offering 75 work as well.

Pull up a chair and make yourself at home :)

You're doing pretty well with the help already! Any info on the garage you mention is welcome. I've found a local Landrover mechanic helpful.

MG Rover sales in Australia total 3332 over 2001-2005 and of these 75/ZT sales are probably around 1100. A recent used car review in The Age daily newspaper here was quite positive and suggested they were proving better than expected. They sell around $A$20-25000 (£8-10,000).
