hi all once again

can anyone tell me what type of oil i should be putting in my MGZT+ 2.5 V6 and also is it fairly easy to do an oil change myself, and what would it involve doing it.

10W 40 semi synthetic. As from factory.

Casrol GTX for me. If you crawl under the car it can be messy. I like the idea of sucking the oil out from the dip stick hole with a long purpose made tube.

You'd have to have pretty powerful suck to get the filter out that way. :laughing2:

Or you could go to your nearest national tyres and they can put it up on the ramp for you then flush your old oil through, put a new filter on and fill it up with nice clean oil all for a nice price of £35 plus you get a receipt to put in your service history too :D

Any decent oil will do as long as its 10w 40 semi synthetic

How big is you dipstick tube then? I've only go a small on BUT it does it's job. As they say it's not the size that counts ............................. :D

Any decent oil will do as long as its 10w 40 semi synthetic


I use 5W 40 fully synthetic (Magnatec). No complains :)

Used Mobil Super S 10w40 twice, gives the engine a nice "round" sound to it. Been debating about oils since the old days back in the USA, it's really a matter of the grade specs, not the brand, so I believe. Cheers, F.
