Hi

The wiring is all in along the sat nav and TV electronics, had some problem with finding a plug for the back of the sat nav unit, sorted now.

The exshaust downpipe had a 18 inch split in it which i welded up, there was oil in the exshaust manifolds which has been traced back to oil in the inlet manifold which must of got in there whilst it was upside down, inlet has be removed and cleaned out, some plugs very oily which means it proberly has not run since that day of the roll.
Exhuast to downpipe joint is horrible, there a egg shaped exshaust manifold meeting a round exshaust pipe resulting a 7 mm step on two sides of the joint, I have put a angle of 45 degree on these edges but it's not ideal for gas flow. all the money we spend on inlet improvments seem a bit of a waste on this exshaust design

The clutch has been replaced although the old one was fine, anybody want to buy a very good clutch only 17,000 miles. should of looked at it first
O'well

The axles now in only 6 bolts , but its NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- heavy fitted it on my own, billy no mates again

The sump was removed as the gasket was leaking and the subframe is being repainted.

Engine and box going back in tomorrow

That all for now folks

Good luck!! Looks like you're well stuck in! That looks like one heck of a job! Are you making any improvements to it as you put it all back together or leaving it standard? Do you intend to keep it? After all the blood and sweat that must have gone into it I think I'd deffo keep it.;)

Top man - you're braver than i am :)

Interesting about the step in the exhaust system, can't be doing any good in there.

Missed the beginning of this . . . . . presumeably you are transferring the mechanicals from the rolled car into another V8 shell (?). If so where did you find the unused V8 shell? Or am I barking up the wrong tree??!!

As i understand it this is exactly what Steve is doing. Taking the mechanicals from the rolled VIN 28 and putting them in a Mark 2 bodyshell.

Not wishing to say too much, but take a Russian millionare that wants a V8 london black cab, buy a brand new 260 v8 strip it for all electrical, mechanical and running gear. Sell on whats left, shell, complete interior, doors, bonnet, boot, bumpers, airbags, wheels etc, TOO ME, YEPEE.
This is a genuine case of being in the right place at the right time, already brought the rolled car and was looking for a shell, new or otherwise.

Paul my local helper, who is on a college course for mechanics, recons he learnt more doing this !.

The engine and axle are in, discs are away being skimmed, waiting for polished and ported plemuim from the US.
Just found a 75 in the local scrappy, loads of goodies on it,
