Anyone know how to adjust the travel. Performance is fine and disks/pads dont need changing (loads left)

just need to get rid of that travel

Last time I adjusted it, I tried to turn the disk without a wheel and couldn't. Stick a wheel on and the extra leverage meant I could.

Just a thought, has anyone tried to adjust it with the wheel on? I am presuming the "hole" will be too deep to get a screw driver in there, but it would make the job sooo much quicker and more accurate.

You wouldn't get to the "hole" with a wheel in place would you ?

If you don't put a bolt in that hole you would. difficult to achieve I would have thought.

difficult, but saves a lot of time in taking wheel off, adjusting, wheel back on to test, wheel off . . ..

I might just try it this week end . .

Finally got round to trying it. Good news is YES you can adjust the handbrake with the wheel on.

So, choc the front wheels, remove 1 road bolt and jack the back of the car. With handbrake off you can turn the wheel until the adjuster is visible. I used a screwdriver with a shaft about 8-10" long with no problems. I managed to get this photo to show the spring (horizontal) and the adjust just above it to show the accessibility, which is about the same as with the wheel off!

1st pic is direct from camera
2nd pick highlights the adjuster and where the teeth are . .

i think mine needs a new cable assy as with the brake adjusted up to nearly touching both sides there is still too much travel on the handbrake lever, job for summer then....ian
