I have bought a V8

This is the right time of year to buy a bargain
I spent a month or so evaluating current dealer stocks and doing some really hard bargaining.

I Turned down a ZTT estate in Chester although with TLC and some paintwork repairs it would have been fine and with hindsight perhaps I should have bought it!

I looked at a really odd one in Grimsby which had started life as a Green MK1 car and is now a Black MK2 even so I would have bought it if they had accepted my very low offer

Then last weekend one popped up on Ebay A saloon which I bought at around trade plus £100 it was cheap enough that I can keep my ZTT as well if I want to.

More pictures to follow once I have cleaned it up a bit

July last year it has done 2899 miles now it has done 40,000 so it is well run in now!

Previous owner was a globe trotting Dentist the fuel bill he has paid over the last year must be frightening I will only be doing about 5000 a year in it myself if that!

I have not decided on a name yet maybe "Boris"

You may have noticed that Tim has not been posting much in the last few hours....

Unfortunately, he fell off his chair when he saw that someone had knowingly and wantonly driven their 260 into some mud! He has not yet recovered from the shock, but should hopefully be back soon! :nurse:

I havn't that was one of the pics the previous owner sent so that is "up north" mud

Fair bit of it under the bonnet as well!

PS I am not even going to try and get it up to Tims standard I wouldn't even know where to begin!

Congratulations Keith for your V8

See my input #39 on the thread "what's yours called" for the name. Hope you find a suitable one

Hey Keith,

Wasn't this beauty among those cars that came to your place on Sunday September 24th? The Wolf among the squeasels? Wolf or Black Wolf would not be a bad name and it's "noir" enough, isn't it?

Message to John Robins:

I do all sorts of trade offs with my Mrs as well (even to take the car for a wash). You're not alone man :(

John as Karen will be driving it as well she is not complaining although the super heavy clutch may put he off bit!

There is a reg number V8 KKA on the dvla site very tempting.........as it is both our initials

Majed no it is not the same car that one went back to the dealers no idea where it is now!

And it is not this one either

All you need is heavily tinted windows all round and the ideal name would then be "Christine" :p:
