I've seen that club at various vintage rallies & they have some nice caravans.
But as you already know Alan this is my choice of sleeping hut

About 125,000 if my memory serves me:o it was just a 2 litre GL auto so was as flat as Frankensteins forehead but was a great old car. My mate took it as part ex for a Saab & rang me at work & I wasn't really bothered but I got home one night & it was on my drive & that's when I knew I'd bought it:getmecoat:

This is a Swedish KABE. I know the owner of the company (well heīs retired now and his kids run the buisness). He started of making one a year in his garage in the 50īs. He made one like this in the 70īs but it never -took off- (no motor:D). This one was displayed a few years ago at a swedish expo here. He sold it as soon as he brought it into the hall:D. It wasnīt finished by a long chalk but someone made him an offer he couldnīt refuse:D

Would that have been a Showman's living van then Alan?
Roverowner
19th February 2010, 21:47
No, one of the first that you can say were made as a holiday home. Caravan in the meaning that we have them today. Iīve got a good book about the art of caravanning, from 1903. Itīs very interesting. Lots about how you should look afte the horse etc. One short chapter about -locomotives- Horseless things. -No future in that- according to the author:D

The CC van was really nice. The one behind the -trike- comes up sometimes on ebay. Sleeper I think it is called. Keep the pics coming I know a lot of us have had vans for years. I used to be in the HHC but havenīt had the time the last few years.....

Indeed, a nice example taken at the NEC.
The one behind the trike was unusual because there were two together.
