I just paid £117 for mine off E-Bay, I would have paid £180 if the seller had his wits about him, would not go over my top end, but its worth what your willing to pay really......

i'd say £150 as a top end price.

doubt my chances will be good though....... they never are

I agree with ampwhu. I think £150 is a fair price to pay for a wood/leather steering wheel..

Finding one at that price is a diff story! :o

Neither are mine kidder,
I was offering a £180 buy it know, but the seller gave it "I know how rare they are and what their worth" so I never made the offer to him, watched the sale and last min bid, and got it for £117, good deal me thinks....
Stay with it you never know, peoples greed lets them down sometimes..:)

One of the tricks is to search enay for 75's that are breaking. look at the pictures of the car that is breaking and see if the wheel is the one you want. Then send message to seller re wheel. Chances are if he hasn't offered it for sale as one of the first items off the car he may not be aware of what they command ;)

Twelve quid, I wouldn't pay more than twelve quid for a steering wheel especially one where the leather's worn through to the wood underneath:D:D:D

thing is, most breakers are aware of the cost of things. 75's aren't the only cars with these wheels. they'd put them on par with a jag. we all know there value in parts

Just to make you all ill....I got one from a breakers last week, great condition for a.....tenner, the car also had the aubergine interior which i totally stripped and bought for the princely sum of £30, was a small family run yard, not a vast corporate type one.

Nice aren't they? :}

Plus, for some reason (something to do with friction I suppose) it's much easier to steer with a wooden wheel - fingers grip the wood without any effort at all.

Could you PM me the seller's name so I can watch out for others? Or was it a definite one-off?

Definately the best way and one that quite a few members have used to obtain theirs, got one of mine by doing this.

You just have to be, eagle eyed, and quick that's all, keep at it and with luck one will turn up at the right price ;)

Breakers is the way to catch a bargain.. I paid £30 for mine and while it did need a refurb on the leather It was a steel.

I also bought another for £35 that I sold a member.

Keep looking in breakers and you'll be suprised what you can get.

Hi, Ive put most of it in my own car, I didnt put the plastic parts in; sill protectors, bits in the footwells etc they were all kinda scuffed anyways, i maybe go back for the carpet tho, a point of interest was that the seats were velour rather than leather and it had all most of the optional extras.
Was moonstone as well, only ended up in the yard due to the usual 1.8 malady.

Mine cost about £175 off Rimmers, I think it was. It's all a matter of how many there are and how many want one - for any particular wood/leather combination.
