I have purchased a new IPK with message centre for my 2005 Rover 75 diesel tourer and need a dealer to install it for me. My local dealer said I also need to replace the ECU, something I'm certain is wrong. Can anyone recommend a dealer near to CM19 in Harlow or RM13 in Rainham, both Essex to carry out this work please.
Many thanks.
Alan.

Hi Alan,

As far as I know you only need an indicator stalk with the extra button to make it work, I thought the ECU was only if you also wanted to install Trafficmaster.

I might be wrong though, I am sure someone on here will be along shortly, there is an Ex Rover dealer in Harlow who is now Renault but still repairs Rover cars:

EJ Darlington Renault
River Way - Harlow - Essex
CM20 2SN

Hope this helps

No ecu is needed! Just the (correct) IPK and a stalk with a button for the trip computer .. the dealer then does a 10 minutes session on T4 (and promptly charges you for an hour's labour!) and you are sorted.

Be sure to check the dealers listing on the club website ...

Sorry, IPK = Instrument Pack (or Cluster) i.e. the clocks themselves ;)

I called in on
EJ Darlington Renault
River Way - Harlow - Essex
CM20 2SN
and they won't do the work in case something goes wrong. Tried a garage in Dagenham listed on Xparts site and they need the car for a whole day as it's a very difficult job. If any members have had this done already and who did the work is within reasonable travelling distance from Rainham or Harlow can they let me know who did the work please. I never thought this would be so difficult to get done. I guess I'll have no hope retrofitting cruise control.
Regards
Alan.

Alan

You could try http://warerovertech.co.uk/ who just up the road from you.

I've never used them (all though I may do when I get round to fitting my IPK).
