I'm currently using a Belkin - what a waste of money that was.

So, looking for something to replace it.

It needs to be robust & reliable, able to handle 20Mb speeds, and simple to set up.

Any suggestions please people?

ADSL or Cable, Tatts?

And do you need it to have a built in modem?

What about wireless?

D'oh!

Sorry!

It's a wireless cable router I need, I have a seperate cable modem.

The desktop is connected to the router via RJ45 cable, and the lappy will be connected via wireless.

I've been using a Netgear WGT624 for a few months now, never dropped a connection, never been powered off or rebooted since the day it was switched on.

Very pleased with it!

Don't pay more than £50 :)

And avoid the Linksys WRK54G due to this thread (http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=3186).

I like CCL, I can go & pick it up. I'd never use Ebuyer; they're ok until you have to return something, then things often go awry.

Don't really fancy a refurb, gimme a nice shiney new one!

Great router, supports upnp, port forwarding, b/g wifi using wep or wpa and 108mbps with a netgear card, blocked sites, parental control, time/date blocking (turn off the internet at 8pm, great for getting the kids to go to bed!), dhcp, dyndns, etc, etc!

Enjoy :)

I'd agree with that, Ebuyer still owe me money for posting stuff back to them. I ordered a 4 port ethernet/wifi speedtouch adsl modem/router, which happens to be dark grey in colour. They send me a 1 port non-wifi router with no modem of an unknown make that was white! They couldn't have got it more wrong. They "lost" the receipt of postage I sent them so no proof of costs so no refund.

Not using them again. Got the router in the end, VERY reliable, never had a problem with it. Have had two speedtouch devices, wired and now wireless, always been rock solid.

Yep, pretty much what I've learnt about them.

I used to work for Royal Mail, they caused no end of problems with their shambolic returns system.

Anything that has Netgear stamped on it i have found to be excellent. I advise all my clients to go this route a bit more expensive but you get what you pay for.

I'd go with netgear too. Don't touch Belkin or Dlink, they stink! Products don't work, and useless support (in my experience).
