Found out something very interesting today courtesy of the guys at Rimmer Bros. :)
I need to replace my crank angle sensor:-
£111 plus vat from a Rover stealership and no sign of any stock.
£42 plus VAT from Rimmer Bros via Land Rover - stock in 1 day
I was a little concerned about this but the bloke at Rimmer's told me they had fitted the landrover part with no problem at all - it is exactly the same as the rover part.
Apparently, it can be obtained from Land Rover dealers by quoting the Rover part number prefixed with "L" ie:-
LNSC100880.
Happily for me, that means that I can have the crank angle sensor AND the camshaft sensor replaced, includiing labour charge and parts delivery from Rimmer Bros for about the same price that I would have paid for just the crank angle sensor (part only) :) from my local dealer, IF they could get them in stock.
Thought that might be of help guys.
I expect everybody knew about this except me but, if not, useful info :)
