I took the wife into work this morning, pretty frosty, the guage reading 2.5 degrees when I started up my CDT.
Went about 400 yards when this VERY loud whirring sound came from the engine compartment. It kept on for about a mile then slowed down gradualy and stopped.. minutes later started up again briefly, then stopped and stayed stopped till I got back home. So I have spent the last 30 minutes trawling through these forums and it seems I may have discovered the 'FBH' or not..which I have found bolted in front of the battery- sorry for my ignorance, I have never owned a Rover before so I assume this was the noise I heard?
