ive got the service cuming up on my 160 and i was hoping to do the job myself as ive always done them on all my cars but this is the first for me on an mg and on an engine size this big, apart from the normal stuff is there any other items or problems i should change or check for when you service a 160?

Crikey there a loads of thinngs to keep your eyes on.

Vis motors
plenum chamber full of water
cooling fan operation
leaking thermostats

to name but a few.

Depending on age of you kv6 and previous service invoices keep in mind the cam belts.They are due at 6 years or 90k

plugs and anti freeze 4 years or 60k
air / pollen / brake fluid / fob battery 2years or 30k
manual box oil 7 years 105k
engine oil 1 year 15k ( suprise !! )

Enjoy it, they are not too bad to work on.

Buy the Haynes manual. It's full of vital information and details on how to do things.

I am still a Haynes fan . There may be some errors , but that is far outweighed by the mass of info in there especially if you are just getting to know the engine . Buy one !:}
