Hello, - Please help me!

I have absoluely no airflow from the aircon/ climate control vents using any function.
I am dreading the oncoming winter as 5 o'clock starts for work will see my pride and joy un-uesable if I cannot clear the windscreen.

At first the problem was intermittent with occasional periods of operation but has been dead for ages now.

A local garage has said the fan motor needs replacing and has quoted me the best part of £600 for the pleasure.

This year I have already laid out for complete new brakes all round, catalyst and back box and cannot justify this extra expense.

Trouble is I'm in love the old beast and she sailed through the MOT again today and I really want the affair to continue.

Any suggestions, or trustworthy specialists in the Heathrow area?

Hello Mark,

The first thing to check is the heater fan relay in the engine compartment fuse box. Another suspect is the power transistor in the fan motor circuit.

We live in the same area so if you want to have a go at this yourself send me a P.M. as I have circuit diagrams etc. If not, Messenger is the nearest club approved service agent! :D

Simon.
