Hello my 02 MG ZT-T 1.8 T Petrol has developed a strange noise, I had the small coolant pipe on the top split. No damage done it was a faint spray no loss of water or over heating, while checking it out I must of dislodged the coil pack lead had two new ones fitted a week ago. No noise then anyway while driving it to get the hose changed it was miss firing because of the lead obviously, the lead was put right the hose was renewed and the engine purrrrrrrrs. No ugly sounds or anything but when I pull off under load there’s a noise, it’s not a tapping or a bang or even a clatter it’s more like someone tapping plastic with a spanner coming from behind the dash engine compartment area, and you can feel it up through the gear stick. Once you’re up and running its gone till you accelerate then its gone heating on or off doesnt change it and I have no problem finding a gear no grinding when selecting gear any ideas please cheers mark
