Hello Ive got a 75 connessiour 2ltr it fails to start every now and then.
We get a click from the starter motor and the battery is fine.
We have found, believe it or not rocking the car backwards and forwards makes it start, embarrising at petrol stations any ideas thanks

As greeners says above OR it could be the brushes. When you rock the car it can move the armature in the starter motor and make the worn brushes momentarily touch the commutator.
The worst case scenario is that the armature is partially burnt away by worn and arcing brushes and the whole motor will need replacing with a recon.
Sorry.
