If you can afford it go for the 385, not many of those about otherwise look down ;)

Oh for some reason I thought that had a multivalve lump in it not just a blower!
Things look proud of the engine bay is the bonnet modified as well?

How much are they asking for that now?
Personally if the 385 is 'just' a blown car I think I would go for Dreadnoughts conversion on a standard car, more are out there, Brians has done 20,000 miles without problem and he must have fitting them down to a fine art by now!

Apparently a deposit has been taken on the car

Is that you making the deposit then?

If not for the same or maybe even less money you can buy a standard power 260 and afford to take it up to dreadnought for one of their superchargers and probably have a fair bit of change left over.

This ZT-T does have a bit of history to it though in as much that it was the only official 385 to go down the production line at Longbridge!

Yes I agree which is what I was getting at in post 2, It does makes you wonder a bit why it is still there and not in a collection as there are quite a few cars in the hands of collecters driven or not

Isn't there someone that is or was on corrie with a couple tucked away somewhere?

The car has been for sale for a long time. SMC in Slough lent it to MG Enthusiast Magazine in February 2006 & it was on their stand at the Stoneleigh MG show.

As much as I would like a 385 I would sooner go for one of Brian Luti's efforts; cheaper and even more power! Plus he has a wealth of knowledge about the set up. Oh, iirc the quad cams didn't fit in the engine bay Keith, they did go in the coupe thing though.

Looks like the bonnet is standard, that blower must be almost scraping the bonnet! Nice car though.
Any interest in yours yet Keith?

By the way I had a Stag for 15 years. Think I've still got a bag of new bits buried at rear of garage.

Kevin Howe had one as his personal car for a while.

The car was originally built for John Edwards who was the marketing director (so called) of MG Rover. Was just another to add to his fleet!

I met another of his V8's a couple of weeks ago at the Oxfordshire MG event. This was a Bittersweet ZT260SE with monogram seats & the sidesill & rear bumper extensions fitted. I asked the owner if I could buy it. lol

Been a busy few days since I put it on Autotrader loads of enquiries and grief from only one canvassing outfit so possibly getting a deposit on it tomorrow so it may have a new owner shortly.

As for the stag I have, it is shall we say a bit of a long term project, I have nicknamed it scam (some components are missing) as that is a fairly good description of what I bought. I might not go ahead with the work needed as it could be a money pit, I just have fond memories of the one we used to use in 1978. It might be cheaper to buy one with the work already done and use the one I have as a cheap source of parts but that would mess up the ZTT 260 fund ;)
