Hi all,
Since i had my car i stupidly never checked or changed the anti-freeze, it is a light shade of pink, so i figured there must be some in there. The level i check often and is always fine.
But i started my car for the first time in a few days and the it was making a funny noise, but not too serious-sounding. I then turned the engine off after seeing steam coming from the bonnet,
I then found out that the water pipes were solid and frozen. :mad:
The car has now de-frosted and back to water again, and i added a bottle of prestone anti-freeze to stenghten the mix as a temp measure to stop it freezing again.
The car seemed to sound OK when i started it up, and i even drove it a mile or two until it completely cut out and wouldnt re-start.
I left it an hour or two and went back to and it was fine, got me home.
So later on i went out again and it got me literally a few hundred metres down the road and cut out again, wouldnt re-start.
So i got it back home, and it now runs again but i daren't drive it again, seems to run fine, no excessive smoke, nothing under the oil cap, water seems fine etc. but it must have cut out for a reason??
Any ideas guys :confused:
