View Full Version : 260 Exhaust on Ebay

I have no idea if this is a bargain, but this strikes me as decent value for money for someone, especially given the difficulty in tracking down OEM exhausts at the moment.

Its only just been listed.

Sorry, I've not twigged how to paste a link (GG, perhaps you can assist???;) ), but there is currently a "virtually new", "superb condition", cat back exhaust system for a 260 on ebay, under ref 330140143163 .
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330140143163&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsearch%2F search.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm37%26satitle% 3D330140143163%26fvi%3D1

I have no vested interest or personal knowledge of this trade, or whether its a bargain, but for someone looking for an exhaust £150 buy it now, or starting bid of £75, seems pretty reasonable.

HTH, Jon

Not a bad price for a fair bit of plumbing
You don't fancy the gearbox then as well Jules?

It does make you wonder what hapened to the donor with only a 100 miles under its belt, did you ask?

Ah well the amazing story unfolded on the phone to the seller Mark!

He ran a Rally prep & tuning business (now folded) and a client had a request for him to kit his London Black Cab out with a ZT 260 engine and running gear!!!!!!!

So Mark bought a brand new 260 from Longbridge as the "Donor car", drove it 70 miles back to his workshop and proceeded to strip it down:SHOCKED:

Big Steve had the shell, and hence his story on another thread, I've had the exhaust system and the rest is history.

As an aside Steve is now selling his Racing Stag
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/195943.htm

So the reshelled 260 must have really captivated him

It was a bit of a weird and wonderful project, fun though.....except for having to strip a 260, that was gutting, although i must admit as an allround car i do prefer my 190+, much more rounded and from a racers point of view i much prefer the pin sharp handling on the V6 to the V8. The last time i spoke to steve he hadnt driven the car all that much, i think he is just getting rid of all his unused projects..

I know....sorry i didnt want to do it...they made me!!!
If i had a veeerrryyy long time i would tell you the whole details of what we did to extend the chassis, manufacture the suspension etc but it is far to involved. Was gutting buying a new car just to strip days later.
