Having had a good read of the handbook....it seems to inicate that if you have the optional message centre...then the car should recieve Traffic Master updates? has anyone got Traffic Master up and running or did it die with MGR ?

Hi Biker,

A lot of us have fitted the traffic master in the last few months, we did have a long thread about it on .org.

We have a tech sheet for fitting instructions and all the part numbers, shout if you need any thing.

It's automatic, you will get the word TRAFFICMASTER come up on your driver info screen when you turn on the ignition. John.

Worth pulling your instrument pack out first to make sure the bits are not already there but not connected.

Otherwise, about £60 from Rimmer Bros

Pull the clocks out and have a pog, you might have it all or at least the lead in place

No need Mike
Jamie sorry had to do some real work this week!

look at the data sheet
http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/datasheets/tid027.pdf

Pull your cluster out and check if you have the little harness as shown on page 3 if you do then you just need the receiver (what year is your car 2004 on may have it but not connected)

If no cable then you need the receiver and cable and scotch locks if you like those things I spliced and soldered mine, much better

part numbers in the pdf

To recap, the parts you need are:

A) If you have the ECU, check for the pre-wired block connector

B) If you don't have the ECU, you need
1 - XVS000030 ECU Traffic Alert Unit
1 - M6 / 10mm nut (I think this is the right size)

C) If you don't have the block connector you need
1 - YMQ003000 Harness Link
2 - YPC116330 IDC Connector
Insulating tape / knife

D) If your pin 10 is already preconnected you need another
1 - YPC116330 IDC Connector

Very simple installation.

Ordered ECU from Rimmers 11am, received 10am next day, fitted by 10:30am.
....Had previously checked connection/ wiring already factory fitted.

Removing the clocks.....
leave steering wheel on, tilt down, remove two top trim screws, pull top trim off, remove one screw holding instrument panel in place, ease panel out.

which Law is it that supports that when you've retrofitted Trafficmaster, the roads are always completely clear wherever you go so that you cant actually look at anything more stimulating than an occasional empty dairylea triangle?

Its about two paragraphs away from the regulations on rain or pidgeons and a freshly washed and polished car.:)

If you want to see the TM working then you should come and move near me, every time i turn the car on in my drive i get 2 alerts as i am halfway between blackwall tunnel and Dartford Tunnel.
