I'm about to replace the thermostat on my V6.
Can anyone tell me where the coolant drain plug is on the block?
(or have a picture of it)

Regards

Hello G,

It's just below the exhaust manifold on the left hand bank. There's a good photograph of it in the Haynes manual.

Simon.

Just an update really.
My replacement thermostat bought from Kaiser has now been fitted for over 6 weeks, i'm still religiously checking the coolant level but have now found that it isn't losing any!! Not a drop lost since fitting Kaisers kit.. brilliant!
The biggest test for it was towing my caravan, i was nervous to say the least but, no problems at all!
A big thankyou to you Kaiser i can now enjoy ownership without worries about overheating...

Good pic Mike! Mg Rover also say a bit of locktite (not permenant) should be used on this. I did not but have had no problems with it.

Quite right, Loctite 242 to the first three threads then tightened to 20Nm. :D
