Sun Blind working again

I wasv sitting,waiting for the wife today,tought id push the sun blind button a few times as it hasnt worked since getting the car and up it popped. Kept making it go up and down a few times just to make sure it it was still working.
Any suggestions as to maintanance now its working again?

Mine would not work when i first got the car but like you i would fiddle
with the button and it went up great but when i lowered it it got stuck again
so the next time i got it to raise i left it like that for about a week i then
started to use it regular and it has worked perfectly since

The electric blind on the CDTi has not worked since the end of last summer. Whilst there is an excellent 'How to service it' with photos in the 'how to' section, it looks a real pain and one of those jobs I keep saying to myself "I really must get round to doing it" Mmmmm:(

I posted the following last year. In the main the problem seems to be that it doesn't get enough excercise. I find that operating the blind once or twice a week, and leaving it in the UP position as often as possible keeps it working OK.

" My blind stopped working last summer but then a sequence of new battery (for other reasons) and operating only with the engine running (alternator volts 14.6 instead of just 12v from the battery) seemed to cure the problem. Just to be sure I try to remember to operate it once a week all year round just to keep the mechanical lift mechanism from getting sticky"
