The beast failed MOT last week, not anything major thankfully, and one issue was the rear light cluster was insecure. It was pretty beat up when I took it off to try a repair, in retrospect I should have photographed my repair but i'll describe it. Both ring fixings were snapped off and the lugs were smashed. I repaired the ring fixings by bending by 90 degrees an old ring spanner used to tighten football boot studs - nice thin metal easily bent with a pair of pliers, then drilled a couple of holes in both the ring spanner and the plastic of the light.

Next the lugs, I found a couple of perfect fit rawl plugs, the bell end (titter ye not!) fits perfectly into the screw entry end and the rawl plug itself snaps into the square cut out nice and secure.

Took half hour in total and wont shift in a hurry!

Well done! if only you were around when they were designing these rear lights then we wouldn't have these problems with these fragile lugs that keep breaking:D
