hi all,
Just spent £500 on new head gasket, now have trouble starting car from cold, spluters in fits& sarts, then after a short while is o.k. but sounds like it could be doing some sort of damage? Could this be the cam sensor? if so are they exspensive or could i get one from a tat yard?

many thanks top cat.

Doesn't sound like the Cam Sensor to me. They usually give trouble with a warm engine, and it doesn't start at all until cooled.
Sounds more like timing to me.

did they use a new inlet manifold gasket ?when putting the engine back together as when cold it will stuck air ,when when car gets warmer it metal expands so will seal the gasket ? or maybe even an air leak somewhere that is sorted when car is at operating temp and the mixture has been adjusted,so car runs more even ...test the engine coolant temperture sensor. with all these types of problems it is good to be able to read any codes stored.you might get lucky and it tells you exacty where the problem lies
