How hard is it to change the drivers window?

and what other precautions would i need to be aware off

Very easy.
Door card off (see howto)

Line the 2 bolts up with the holes on the inner door panel. (at bottom of glass)
Loosen them and tilt glass forwards and outwards.

Do not operate electric window regulator all the way to top without glass in.
It will come off the runners and possibly crack the white glass clamps

Assembly is reversal of removal apart from door card refitment central clip!
