Headlights suddenly failed?

I turned my headlights on this evening, and got a bulb failed warning on the LCD display – thought I'd change a bulb, but they’re both off. Main beams and sidelights are OK.

Is this likely to be a fuse or relay? I haven’t got a Haynes Book of Jokes, so I don’t even know where the fuses are!

Thanks as always :}check the fuses first,it is not uncommon that the wiring harness has chaffed on the sharp edges of the inner wing/cross member.

Check the simple things first, maybe they have both blown
