v6 2.5 tapping noise...

My lovely v6 has always tapped since i bought her, but i noticed the otehr day howm much worse it sounds. This sounds expensive...

any ideas?

Its not the purge valve is it, sound from nearside of engine, sometimes tapping sometimes not?

Could your tapping not be VIS valves. Otherwise maybe the hydraulic lifters. What about an oil change and filter??

Could be the slack tappet simulater, er.. simulating a slack tappet.
Search fo "STS" (including the quotes).
