Hi all.
Ive recently replaced the headlight bulbs in my 2003 ZT CDTi. Now my headlamp aim is all over the place and i cant find any adjusters. Ive looked through this site, and ive looked in my manual, yet i cant find anything. Worst of all is the drivers side clip that holds the bulb in has come off. Can i get it back on??? Can i hell as like.
Any help with my issues will be greatly appreciated :)

They are fiddly !
It's easy to get them seated wrong but if they're seated right there's no reason to have to adjust the headlight alignment.
It usually takes me a few attempts to get them right !!
As for the clip, it's a game of patience or remove the headlight which means bumper off.

hi changing the bulbs should not place the headlights out of ajustment as far as i no.however this fact and the fact you cannot get the clip back on leads me to belive the bulb is not seated correctly ie its sitting up proud which in turn will not allow the clip to go back on.if you look at the base of the bulb it has a flat section this needs to go at the top.put in this just to make sure its correct try to turn to left or right if it will not turn its in.i no access is hard but it can be done as just this minute done mine.

If you need them, the manual adjusters are here:

I recently replaced an O/S dip beam bulb and found that I was being flashed by other drivers as the beam was too high. I wondered if I had put the bulb in upside down and reversed it with little difference. I eventually found the adjusters shown excellently above (wish I'd seen this post sooner) and lowered the beam with an allen key. I shouldn't really have had to do this and the consequence is that my main beam is now also lower - and to top it all, the bulb failure light is still glowing!

The first bulb I changed I thought what a doddle what is all the fuss about and then found at the MOT the bulb was a mis alighned, nice garage man sorted it for me. A few months on bulb blew again and I changed only for the clip to fall off and that is nigh on impossible to refit unless you remove the bumper and the great Mr lates did that.

In short these bulbs can be a nightmare!

The holes the clip locates in are not round but 'sausage' shaped. This means the clip is most likely to come out when it is half way through its 'swing' when opening or coming the clip. If it does come out make sure you line up the clip end in line line with the 'sausage', if you do the clip will go back as easily as it came out! If not it won't go back in at all.
I had hours of fun figureing it out!
