hello
rover 75 diesel 2003 tourer
my garage changed all locks with a replacement lock kit from x part
since then the engine immobilise warning light flashes
they configured the keys and ignition with their computer
xpart says this is not possible
what are they doing wrong
the car is in france with the old rover garage now volvo

If they only changed the locks and keys, sounds like they didn't transfer the immobiliser chip from the old keys to the new ones.
I expect they programmed the car to the keys, which is only for the for the alarm/remote locking function. The immobiliser is a separate part of the key which is fixed and cannot be re-programmed (as X-Part have confirmed)

how would they open the key to access the chip ?

Using a small screwdriver (or similar) open the key as if changing the battery, the immobiliser chip is in a recess in one side of the case.

Ring our local auto electricians, they are experts with the rover 75 Keys, Transponders, Immobilisers and Central Locking system,
They have sorted out this sort of problem for a lot of people on here..
Their number is 01942 261600, Ask for Steve, mention the forum. They are fairly near to you
