Just to start the ball rolling on this brand new part of the forum, here are a couple of pics of my van.

Need to get some better ones soon though.

It's an 08 Ace Jubilee Courier 6 berth fitted with every extra minus motor mover, (Some of us actively enjoy reversing!) including air-con.

Now lets see yours (Caravans that is;))

Wow:bowdown: Mines only 2 and a half. Does your have grp sides? I ask as mine has 1 piece alluminium and is very shiny, but they streak very easily, but I've a way of sorting that. Mine also has a paintseal treatment to the interior cushions and tyron bands fitted. Only thing I could want is a bigger washroom, but then somewhere has to be compromised when you squeeze 6 berths on a 24 foot single axle.

It's all aluminium but dimpled, very strong. The best cleaner is Fenwicks Caravan cleaner, followed by a dowsing with Fenwicks "Bobby Dazzler" yep it's called Bobby Dazzler,it leaves a finish that looks like you have spent hours polishing, water just beads. I use it on the car and bike also. Brilliant stuff.

I use Swissvax shield after bilt hamber auto-clay. The design of the windows don't help though as they protrude from the exterior. Those who have flush windows get away with less streaking. And as it leans on the drive, only one side streaks, so I regularly wash the roof and I stick flexi plastic in the awning rails to keep streaking at bay.

Here is my 95 Swift Challenger 490 SE Lux. It had been standing uncovered for nearly 3 years when I bought it. Took a lot of work to get the exterior back up to scratch, but apart from being green, it had faired quite well:

Lugsurry.....:D My vans are a bit more -frugal-

I did an article for Historical Caravan Club a number of years ago. About the firm that built one of my vans in 1949. Bit of a read if anyones interested:}

Don't get me wrong, I'd love a classic van, it's just I'm not willing to give up the luxurys of modern touring just yet:getmecoat:

Not at all. Only pulling your leg;) Looks really nice just the job for where we have a dillapidated cottage. Canīt afford one just now:getmecoat:

All depends on what you want out of your holiday. My missus dosnīt miss the oven etc. Mean she gets to dine out a bit more often:D Our small ones are so easy to tow compared with a modern one. Not much wider than the car and see through. Like the interior in yours, really well done. Looks very inviting:D

The van was half the holiday when my 2 oldest boys grew up. We had a fantastic time. all over Denmark, the UK and Ireland. Has given the boys (and me) really good memories for life. Sitting in the pelting rain on the Mull of Kintyre for 24 hours without stop.... playing a couple of hundred -goes- of UNO and other games:D

Oldest son Robert a few hours before the downpour. Heīs 21 now and has other -ideas-:}

The interior layout on ours is the best layout on the market for a large family IMO, and it makes a palatial 2 berth, hell of a shame they've moved on to those nasty triple bunk jobbies, great if you have a young family, but useless if you have older children.
Floor plan for you if you couldn't quite make it out from the piccys;)
http://www.white-arches.co.uk/2008models-abbey-swift/swift-charisma-570-plan.gif
We bought the Ace over the Swift because of the more inviting fabric colours and all the options on this one as an ex-demo. Same van bar the front panel and badge. The only thing that feels pinched is the washroom, but it is very ingenious and the sink and bulkhead folds to make a good size shower. And modernities like LED lighting makes it kind to the lesiure battery so CL's with no hook-up are fine. Got Ģ3000 off list straight away, plus Ģ7000 off for trade in (2005 Swift Charisma 555) and then knocked a bit more off for cash. List price Ģ15,575 bought for just under Ģ5k in Oct 08 just as the ressesion started to bite in the UK:D Also got an Isabella Capri Lux awning for it in the NEC Caravan & Boat show last year with carbon fibre poles and annexe. Well worth the Ģ1000 IMO.

I love Swift group tourers, best headroom (6'5'') and were the widest (7'6'') until recently, now we can tow 8'4'' continental vans in the UK;)

For me thatīs just too much for a tourer. Half the fun is having it small and cosy. Wouldnīt pull all that around as it is available at all the sites. As a small -cottage- out at out country place, it would be just fine. My most expensive van cost 900 pounds with awning;)

all depends what you want to put your money on-into. If you use if a lot then it is well worth it. Maybe even a long -haul- to scandinavia.... just to get the most out of it;)

Thats the best thing about caravans though isn't it? Theres one for everyone:D Many people thing I'm nuts having one of these at that price, but hey, it gets used a lot;)
