View Full Version : Sean DD cover disguise?

It's not often I leave the car in an 'exposed' area, but I'm conscious of the fact that the DD unit might attract theft.

In my last car, rather than pull the satnav out - I fitted in down below the radio in the console and wired to an external antenna which itself was stashed behind the visor out of sight. When leaving the car, I would stash a map between the satnav and gearstick to hide it from prying eyes.

[Getting to the point...]

One idea I've seen on ebay is a thin plastic cover to disguise a similar DD unit, to look like a standard stereo radio. Has anyone found something similar which will fit the Sean DD?

Looks like this could be a great idea, if it fits............who's first to try it?

In my opinion this one would "attract" attention if anything,it looks like exactly what it is,a cover for a DD.
I think the design of the first one is far more plausible, shame it dosen't miss the eyebrow.

in my opinion, if they are going to break in, they will, weather it's to raid the glovebox or nick the stereo, either way hiding it is a waste, imho these false covers look naff, are naff and wouldnt fool a seasoned thief.

I make you right on that.

Mine is not a daily driver and is garaged when not in use so at least the risk is minimised.Or at least it will be when fitted :)

Not much point in worrying about the seasoned thief, most likely scenario is a break in by someone who spots in passing an expensive looking bit of equipment on open display.
