one out of the ZR 160 I expect, the K series engine came in variable valve control form too, IIRC they came out about 1998?

VVC was launched in the MGF in 1995 Phil ;)

Interesting that this development vehicle exists - I can't imagine that they were considering this as a launch option? Compared to the Turbo 160, the VVC would have felt somewhat sluggish I'd have thought?

I also understood from Roger Parker that with the weight of the 75/ZT, the 1.8 was developed as a turbo, since the revvy nature of the VVC would not suit.

However, reading the advert, it says the engine is EURO4 spec - is this correct, or assumption? My understanding was that MG Rover were not quite there when they collapsed, although it would appear NAC-MG have since got EURO4 certification. Perhaps the 1.8T was unlikely to meet EURO4 compliance and so it's possible work may have been done on the VVC. The VVC started as 143bhp and went to 160bhp, but maybe they found some way to improve the torque?

It's got steel wheels and the plastic covers. I know this is a much abused word on fleaBay but that really is comparitvely rare. I missed out on a very early diesel Classic, utter poverty spec and then more stuff taken out sort of job, with steel wheels.
