For anyone wondering if it is worth fitting the chrome wheel bolt covers
I think they greatly improve the look over the tatty originals.
The 17mm sets fit four on each wheel and the 19mm set fits the standard
Rover locking wheel nut so you don't have to have one missing on each wheel.

Nice, where did you get them from? The ones on fleabay are either 17 or 19, not both!

They look suberb and finish the wheels off well,I fitted a set of 17mm covers on a members car but found the fitting slack due to bolt wear.I simply padded the back of the cover with PVC tape for a tight fit..

STEVE: the 17mm set (20) came from here
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TPI-CHROME-WHEEL-NUT-BOLT-COVERS-ROVER-75-/170492985069?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Wheels_tyre s_Trim_Nuts_ET&hash=item27b22c7eed
The 19mm set, wrongly listed as suitable for the Rover 75 came from
Car Parts Market, also on E bay at only £6.99 for a set of twenty.
Using this method you finish up with an awful lot of spares!

Buying two sets is cheaper than having your wheels stolen!

I have a set of covers on mine but today noticed a locking wheel nut missing. So I need a locking wheel nut and a cover for it.

Those chrome covers look fantastic - that's now on my long term 'to do' list.

BTW did the original bolts have little black caps on them? I found one in my boot with a BMW logo on and can only think that it goes on them or on the end of the locking wheel bolt key.

Well maybe if we ask Mr. Wuzerk nice enough he will sell us a set of 4 19mm covers out of his spares? I'm up for a set if they are up for sale

The chromed covers I fitted (from eBay) about 18 months ago are now nearly as rusty as the bolts they are covering!

just bought these;

seeing as i had brand new alloys i painted old bolts, but few times on and off rusting again so these should do the trick!

Just fitted these caps today - a very snug fit on all but 1 of the bolts. I put a piece of PVC tape inside the back of the cap, and that made the fit more snug.

For now I have not added a chrome cap over the locking bolts - I will decide in time if I will get a set of 19mm covers. The locking nuts (except 1) have mat silver plastic covers - there is one missing, and yes, the locking bolt is rusty - so need to do something about that.

Can one still get the plastic cover for the locking bolt?

Yes, the sets come with a plastic removal tool. It is necessary since the caps were and still are a very snug fit. Mine are still as perfect as the day I fitted them. They are plastic by the way.

I just used a bit of tinfoil and haven't lost one yet. Do look nice.

Am certain the BMW ones fit perfectly or that they are a BMW part. Will have a look.

I've never lost one, they fit snug. I removed the locking wheel nuts too, they're just hassle. Do people nick alloys these days  not seen a car on blocks in 15 years

Especially off a Rover :getmecoat:

Keep your hands off my serpents, when fitted :D

This is where I got mine from.... http://stores.ebay.co.uk/sixonetwoltd/_i.html?_fsub=582314219

To make them a really snug fit I put a strip of kitchen foil over the bolt head before putting on the Cover. I say this because I lost one at the car wash I sometimes use when they cleaned my wheels with the pressure lance. I didn't notice until I got home so I had to buy another packet of 20 just to replace one.... ;)

In case you are wondering I replaced my standard Bolts with HT Steel ones and the are 19mm heads.
