Right chaps, I promised you pre Christmas meet. So a pre Christmas meet we shall have:} I was thinking Sunday November 27th and thought I would give you the option of several places for the meet and then we can go with what seems the most popular.

Option 1

The 8 Ball Diner
London Road
A12 Northbound
Witham
Essex
CM8 3HB.

http://www.8balldiner.com/

Option 2

Thrasher
Nacton Road,
Ipswich,
Suffolk
IP3 9RZ

http://www.hungryhorse.co.uk/

Option 3

The Crown
Old Ipswich Road,
Ardleigh,
Colchester,
CO7 7QR

http://www.vintageinn.co.uk/thecrowncolchester/

My personal preference is the diner as we’ve never been there before and I think they seem really geared up to car meets. But all is down you guys, I’ll go with the people :D

Looks like us members north of Ipsiwch have been outvoted on the venue, it would have been nice to have one in the Ipswich area as last year it was also in Essex. Lewis I will have to let you know nearer the time if it is to be the Diner.

Don't think it is set in stone yet, I was just going with the flow and to be honest I can't stand the Crown or most Vintage Inns, overpriced pre made food!!!!
As an alternative and nearer to Ipswich I have looked on a few other Car meet based forums and there is a place called Ollies on the A14 near Felixtowe that gets good feedback, just a thought Lewis if you wanted to check it out.
But me, I don't mind where we go so long as it involves food!!!

Do you mean the Owell Crossing? this is a mainly a truck stop but other motorists use it as well. It would be a good venue as it is easy to get to and there is plenty of room for parking, just a suggestion. From the options, I would go for the Trasher at Naction, Ipswich.

Coming home from Brands Hatch early evening tonight went past Rivenhall and all the lights were indeed out at the 8 Ball Diner and there were no cars in the car park!
Might need checking whether the Diner is still trading.

You turn left at Rivenhall and go under the A12 and then take the slip road back onto the A12 Northbound, no problems.

Please define suitable.

Certainly, a large car park for say 20 or more vehicles, an establishment that doesn’t mind us standing around and chatting outside for a while before we go in, and perhaps most importantly good food :D.
