View Full Version : Front skirt - is the gap too big?

I had a minor bump the other week and it entailed having a new front skirt. The gap between the bonnet & the new part seems a little bigger than I seem to remember! I was wondering whether I could second the advice & guidance of some of the club attending the Holker meet to compare the gap!
I thought that once I got a car & stopped using the train I would never need to "mind the gap" again!

Bonnet to bumper gaps do seem to vary ;)

It may be as simple as the bonnet stop adjusters have been fettled with but if you have had a replacement bumper chances are it just needs the slam-panel and crash bar raising up a tad.

When I say 'just needs....', of course what I actually mean is entire front bumper off jobbie..... ;)

You can 'flex' the upper section of bumper to reduce the gap by placing washers between it and the slam panel. This method is far easier but (in my opinion) doesn't give as nice a result as the previous method. :)
