Can anyone explain how to get to and change the oil filter on a 2.5 mg zt, i was going to pay for a full service but have realised that im keeping the car til it falls apart and not bothered about a history.

I look after her and would like to put my own service on it and pay the extra for good products, also get my hands dirty

Thanks

Well, on my tourer, I dropped a 10mm spanner in the engine bay. To get at it was a bit of a mission, but I took off the front RH wheel and got at it that way.
Lo and behold, the oil filter sits right there, I didn't try to get at it, but it seems as if it is do-able!.
So suck out the old oil, and replace the filter in this way, and you can leave the under-engine-plate alone.
hope it works.
