It is shame that the british car industry from that period had not the reputation for reliability and endurance which the Japanese had earned. Your Pajero would have been a typical example from that era.

I totally agree it Mitsubishi and Toyota nearly killed Landrover.. It certainly lost their main markets in Africa and Australia.. Then when they did strike back they lost site of simple things like having variants that had no ECU etc both Mitsubishi and Toyota do for certain markets there aren't many bush garages with t4's lol

The old land cruisers still hold their price out here for that very reason even if they are old and do not have anything fancy on board :)

It is heart warming to hear that Lady Luck has smiled with the sun bearing down on you in the northern hemisphere. A recent rumour I saw is that in Scotland, the locals have a blue tinge to their pale skin :D
