Right, I've managed to get out between rain showers and connected up the Erisin - haven't fully fitted it as I need a ISO female to DIN male aerial adaptor (my local Halfrauds has some in stock for £2.00, I will pop along tomorrow and pick one up).
Obviously I haven't tested the radio as I don't have the aerial connected, everything else seems to work as it should - even connected to my phone straight away, however I cannot get the SWC working.
I have located to blue/orange and blue/ purple wires in the grey plug at positions 2 & 3 and no matter which way I connect up the unit won't let me program the buttons.
Anyone have any ideas, ideally I would like to get the installation finished tomorrow as I will be using the car for work next week.
Thanks in advance, Paul.

Just a thought, would my SWC issues be due to the unit having a canbus decoder connected which may need setting up?
(Been surfing the Internet!)

Yes Paul your wires once rightly connected the job isn't done.
You need to help the system detecting your SWC.
As I'm a bick sick at the moment and it's a bit chilly outside I can't go to the car and take some pictures but as far as I can remind there are still 2 steps.

Rummaging within the software you need to activate an option (just a radio button to click upon) regarding the SWC (I don't remember exactly which is the precise label sorry).
Then rummaging once more within the parameters you should have access to a large table offering all the possibilities. Choose the first action you want for your SWC and at once you must activate the corresponding button and record it. And so on for other actions / buttons.

I had just a problem: my left SWC when pushed is reinitializing the radio!
I didn't bother to find out why (probably a software malfunction) so I decided to choose the right SWC to play with the volume +/- and I set up a scrolling menu on the left SWC but only when pulled. And that's it. I'm pleased with that and it works brilliantly.
Good luck.
Arnaud.

I'm a wee bit confused mate... do you mean you can't get to the programming stage Arnaud mentions, or you get there and it doesn't work?

Did you buy the Rover cable with the unit? If so, on mine one of the SWC wires from the Erisin is hanging loose as a fly lead, and the other is already grounded - so I think you would have to leave one of yours in the Rover loom, and take the other to that fly lead.

Not sure which one of course, I suppose suck it and see

Update on stereo.
After thoroughly testing the unit I still have no SWC, I have definitely got a signal at the car loom wiring but the unit won’t read them.
I can access the SWC set up without problem, but it doesn’t recognise any operation of the control buttons.
After much searching on the internet I believe that the canbus decoder settings are incorrect - the unit displays the symptoms i.e. No response to SWC controls, incorrect indication of doors open (showing passenger front door open when the driver’s door is opened), displays engine revs, road speed and temperature, but not consumption or range.
Having viewed several videos on the subject the cure is to set the decoder up correctly in ‘factory settings’, however I am unable to find them in any of the menu’s.
Other than the above, I am pleased with the unit, sound quality and graphic equaliser are excellent, even got it to boot up with Rover 75 logo.
As per Hogweed’s experience the unit takes time to boot up if left too long (say overnight), but starts instantly if turned within an hour or so of being turned off.
Paul.

Yes I’d agree about the sound etc – one of the (increasingly few) things I like about my unit…

Yes if you cut power to them altogether, they’re like any computer (albeit in this case a very slow one) – they have to load their operating system etc.
Mine should operate like yours, and just “sleep” for a defined period before cutting its power, but that’s one of many functions which doesn't work on mine. The manufacturer send me increasingly incomprehensible emails but, even when I can actually understand what they’re trying to say, their solutions never work.

Might be clutching at straws here, but have you tried password 0000122? It gives you a different menu. As do 0000121 & 0000120...

Thank you for that, I will try those passwords and see what happens.
The only password I have used so far is 5678 which allows me on the boot logo page.
I hope you get some joy with your unit, seems like they could be good if the niggles can be ironed out.
Still learning with mine, noticed tonight when I selected reverse it turns the volume down and tries to connect to the reversing camera, even though I haven't fitted a camera yet, or even connected the reverse sensing wire to the cars loom!

Might not apply to your model, but worth a try. You could ask Erisin's techies - you might get some sort of answer out of them :duh:

I think mine's faulty, or maybe a new, relatively untested model. I've suggested this to them - we'll see what they say!

I suspect the CANBUS can do this, but I have no details
