Just got a quote from Autoglass to replace the windscreen (without rain sensor & auto dimming mirror).
A few pennies under £360, ouch! This is for a car I'm recommisioning so SORN'd & currently uninsured. |
Mine was just the £75 excess on my insurance after discovering a 7-8in crack whilst just sat on my drive during lockdown!

Anyone having a new screen fitted needs to make sure the 2 pads that the screen sits on are fitted correctly. I had a water leak which damaged the imobilser, caused by the drivers side pad not fitted in it's location properly. Only found it when I had my screen replaced a couple of years ago. Water gets in through the location hole and drips onto the imobilser. If you see water dripping off the bonnet release chances are it's coming from under the screen. Now got a dry interior after sucking out approximately 6 ltrs of water.
Hope this helps |
Cheaper with Phoenix

I used Phoenix last year. With rain sensor and fitted on my driveway cost just £140. Did excellent job. (Chap asked me if I'd had a quote from Autoglass - which I hadn't - and told me it would probably have been twice theirs.) You know what to do . . . |
